Plymouth State Athletics Tailgating Policy

GENERAL POLICIES
  • Football tailgating opens at 10:00 a.m.
  • Tailgaters are encouraged to purchase their space in advance online. Registration links will be available on team schedule pages. Online spaces are available at a discounted rate of $60. Football online registration closes at noon on the Friday preceding the game.
  • Tailgating spaces may be purchased day of at the gate, assuming the event is not already sold out, at a rate of $70. Cash only.
  • The tailgating area must be  cleared of vehicles one hour after the conclusion of the game.
  • Participants who have no intention of attending the event or contest are strictly prohibited from tailgating.
  • The following items are NOT permitted:
    • Kegs
    • Hard liquor
    • Drinking games
    • Excessive drinking
    • Household furniture
    • Box trucks or large vans seating more than eight people
    • Any animal that is not a service animal
EXPECTATIONS
  • Tailgaters are reminded of University values that include a desire for respectful treatment of those around them and mindfulness that all students are subject to policies outlined in the Plymouth State University Student Rights and Code of Conduct. Everyone is subject to New Hampshire State Law, as well as rules and regulations of Plymouth State University.
NO GLASS CONTAINERS OR COMMON CONTAINERS
  • For safety considerations, all tailgaters will use cans, plastic cups or plastic bottles. Glass containers are prohibited.
  • Common containers, like kegs, party balls, etc., are prohibited.
ALCOHOL
  • In accordance with the laws of the State of New Hampshire, no one under 21 years of age may consume alcohol at tailgating events. No exceptions.
  • Open alcohol containers are strictly prohibited outside the tailgating area.
  • No drinks of any kind are permitted outside the tailgating area.
  • Consumption of alcohol must end by the conclusion of halftime.
  • Foot traffic - no one is permitted to enter the tailgate area with coolers, backpacks, etc.
PARKING
  • Parking attendants are on duty to assist in maintaining orderly traffic flow and maximize parking arrangements. Please park where they direct you.
  • One vehicle = One space. Marked parking spaces are for vehicles only. Parking spaces may not be used for tents, grills, chairs or other items. The tailgate needs to be limited to the area immediately behind your vehicle. Tents or canopies may not exceed 10'x10' and must be secured by weights or otherwise safely anchored and be an extension of your vehicle.
  • Vehicle capacities should not exceed the total number of seatbelts for the vehicle (passengers can not ride in the bed of a pickup truck, etc.).
GRILLS & GENERATORS
  • For safety reasons, gas-powered generators are not allowed. Propane and gas grills are permitted but may not exceed a 20-gallon tank per vehicle. Charcoal grills, wood fires and any other form of open flame are prohibited.
CLEAN UP & RESTROOMS
  • Please dispose of waste in the appropriate containers. Trash bags will be provided. Port-a-potties are available for tailgaters. Those facilities are not maintained by Plymouth State University, but by outside contractors.
  • Trash bags will be handed out at all tailgating entrances. Please place all trash in proper receptacles or designated locations. Excessive trash around tailgates is prohibited and vehicles are subject to ticketing and towing. Littering of any form will not be tolerated.
